We
have been building and renting
motorized beach wheelchairs for
over 3 1/2 years now. During
that time we have learned quite
a bit about our customers and
even more about how to build a
chair that is able to take on
conditions like salt water, sand
and extremely high humidity. Our
rental customers have given us
invaluable feedback during their
numerous trips to the beach. We
listened. We observed. We made
changes. It is safe to say that
we are constantly making changes
when we discover something that
will improve the chair and
likewise the beach experience of
our customers. |
![]() Ordinary power wheelchairs use a 2 or 3 amp battery charger that takes about 8 hours to recharge the wheelchair batteries. We use a Qwest Marine 10 amp battery charger. It takes only 4 hours to recharge the batteries. Of course, this means more time on the beach for you and more fun! |
We use Strong tiedown straps that are easy to work with to keep the batteries secure. |
|
We supply you with either a backpack or a pouch that is part of the seat. |
Both armrests being adjustible means easy access from either side. |
|
Making sure that comfort and strength go hand in hand, our foot rests are second to none. |
Our extra heavy-duty casters and bearing mounts mean that this chair can take whatever comes along. |

HOW THE BPR
MOTORIZED BEACH WHEELCHAIR
EVOLVED During the summer of 2011 we also installed new 10 amp Qwest marine battery chargers. Previously our chairs were equipped with typical two or three amp wheelchair battery chargers, which required 8 hours on the charger. The new 10 amp marine battery chargers are not only waterproof, but they also cut charging time down to only 4 hours...again, more time on the beach.
