MOTORIZED BEACH WHEELCHAIRS FOR SALE!!!

We have been building and renting motorized beach wheelchairs for over 3 1/2 years now. During that time we have learned quite a bit about our customers and even more about how to build a chair that is able to take on conditions like salt water, sand and extremely high humidity. Our rental customers have given us invaluable feedback during their numerous trips to the beach. We listened. We observed. We made changes. It is safe to say that we are constantly making changes when we discover something that will improve the chair and likewise the beach experience of our customers.

As a result of all of this extremely positive feedback we have decided to offer a limited number of our fantastic BPR motorized beach wheelchairs for sale.  Please take a look at the pictures below so that you can see how this motorized beach wheelchair has evolved.  There are a lot of things that we have changed that you may not be able to notice.  So, please, read about how the motorized beach wheelchair evolved below.

Ordinary power wheelchairs use a 2 or 3 amp battery charger that takes about 8 hours to recharge the wheelchair batteries. We use a Qwest Marine 10 amp battery charger.  It takes only 4 hours to recharge the batteries. Of course, this means more time on the beach for you and more fun!

We use Strong tiedown straps that are easy to work with
                                    to keep the batteries secure
.

We supply you with either a backpack or a pouch that is part of the seat.

Both armrests being adjustible means easy access from either side.

Making sure that comfort and strength go hand in hand,
our foot rests are second to none.

Our extra heavy-duty casters and bearing mounts mean that
this chair can take whatever comes along.

HOW THE BPR MOTORIZED BEACH WHEELCHAIR EVOLVED

After 3 1/2 years in the motorized beach wheelchair rental business, Beach Power Rentals has learned a lot. In the beginning, our beach wheelchair frames were made from steel. We used any type of motor and any type of controller and joystick configuration that would work for us.

Needless to say, using steel for beach wheelchair frames was a mistake. Not only did the steel rust quickly, but it also made the beach wheelchair very heavy.  We have been experimenting with aluminum for our frames. Initially, we made our frames using one-inch schedule 40 aluminum pipe and pipe fittings. This was a huge improvement over steel ? lighter weight and no rust.

As things progressed, we eventually bought a welder and Angelo, our technician, learned to weld schedule 40 aluminum pipe. This eliminated a lot of the costly aluminum fittings and made the beach wheelchair much stronger.

We are now much pickier about the motors we use in our beach wheelchairs. In the past, most of our motors were 2 pole motors. We are gradually replacing all of the 2 pole motors with 4 pole motors. Four pole motors have approximately 30% more power. In addition to that, we are using the Penny Giles Drive Technology VR2-90 controller and power module. These components greatly enhance the reliability of our chairs and narrow down diagnostic work tremendously.

In April of 2009 we used only U?1 12 volt 35 amp SLA batteries. Now, we have replaced all of those batteries and we use only 22 NF 12 volt 55 amp SLA batteries. Think of amps as gas in your tank. With a 55 amp battery you have a 57% increase in fuel supply. This translates into more time on the beach between charges.

During the summer of 2011 we also installed new 10 amp Qwest marine battery chargers.  Previously our chairs were equipped with typical two or three amp wheelchair battery chargers, which required 8 hours on the charger.  The new 10 amp marine battery chargers are not only waterproof, but they also cut charging time down to only 4 hours...again, more time on the beach.

There is nothing like a day at the beach in one of our fantastic motorized beach wheelchairs. Our sand is sugar white again and our beautiful beaches await your arrival.  Call now for a power beach wheelchair rental!
